Two years into college, I realized that being an engineer and providing the technology to the patients for me was more rewarding than being a doctor.
After Rutgers, I worked for a mid-sized medical device company which produced expensive hernia meshes for the western/USA market. Afterwards, I worked for startup company that made clean cooking stoves for the developing world. There is so much more about each experience but what I took away from both experiences was that I love medical device product development and I love working in the global health space. Through a friend, I found out that Johns Hopkins had a program that would let me chase what I was already passionate about and surround me with individuals who shared the same passions. In the process of completing the application process, I realized that my interest to work in this field was more than I had originally thought.
I was accepted and I started this blog one month after the program started.
